Travel to Serbia- VISAS

Before travelling to the Republic of Serbia, please read here the general entry requirements. Citizens of Republic of Croatia traveling to the Republic of Serbia do not need visas (up to 90 days). All holders of travel documents for aliens or refugees require an entry visa for the Republic of Serbia. If you do not possess a Croatian passport, please check here whether you need a visa. Visas can be requested by submitting an application to the Consular Section.

According to the Decision of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, starting November 8th, 2014:

Foreign nationals, holders of all types of passports other than emergency travel documents and travel documents issued in accordance with international conventions, may enter, transit and stay without a visa in the Republic of Serbia, if they have a valid Schengen visa, the UK and other European Union member states visa or United States visas, no longer than 90 days in a 6 month period.
Foreign nationals, holders of all types of passports other than emergency travel certificates and travel documents issued in accordance with international conventions, may enter, transit and stay without a visa in the Republic of Serbia, if they have residence permit in the Schengen zone countries, European Union member states or the United States, no longer than 90 days in a 6 month period.

TYPES OF VISAS
1) Transit and short stay up to 90 days (Visa C )
2) Extended stay from 90 to 180 days (Visa D)

VISA C - Transit and short stay up to 90 days:

Visa C is issued for Transit and Short stay purposes, including tourism, business or other travel needs, and may be valid for a single, double or multiple entries into Serbia.
The duration of an uninterrupted stay, and/or the total duration of successive visits of a foreigner with a short stay visa shall not exceed 90 days within a period of six months which begins on the day of the first entry.

VISA C REQUIREMENTS:
1. Valid passport (passport must be valid at least 6 months from the date of first entry into Serbia)
2. Letter of invitation:

for a private visit – invitation letter certifed by the relevant authority of the R. Serbia
for a business visit – invitation letter by a company in Serbia;
for tourism – proof of payment for the trip/organised tour, issued by a travel agent.
for transit - entry visa to country of destination. If visa for that country is not required, other supporting documents relating to the purpose of visit.

3. Completed visa application form:
4. Photo (size 3.5x4.5cm);
5. Return ticket or Itinerary (copy of Driver License and Insurance if travelling by car);
6. Proof of stay in Croatia - stay permit, visa (if you are not residing in your native country);
Proof of sufficient funds for staying in Serbia (Bank statement, Credit Card statement, Traveller Cheques. Allow 50.00 EUROS per day);
7. Health insurance;
8. Visa fee (EUR 60,00 + 2,00)

VISA D - extended stay from 90 to 180 days:

Visa D, for a longer stay, is issued to a foreigner for staying in the territory of the Republic of Serbia for a period of 90 to 180 days. This visa is issued to a foreigner who intends to apply in the Republic of Serbia for a temporary residence permit.

VISA D REQUIREMENTS:

1. Passport valid for at least 90 days from the date of issuance of the visa;
2. Completed visa application form:
3. 2 photos (size 3.5x4.5cm);
4. Supporting documents for extended stay in Serbia (as per the list below)
5. Proof of sufficient funds for staying in Serbia;
6. Proof of accommodation in Serbia;
7. Health insurance.
8. Visa fee (EUR 30,00 + 2,00)

In addition to the above documents, depending on the purpose of the journey, for the type D type, the following must also be enclosed:

EMPLOYMENT:

business registration;
employment contract, business agreement, sporting engagement or other documents as proof of work engagement of the visa applicant.

EDUCATION, STUDY, INTERNATIONAL STUDENT EXCHANGE, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, SPECIALISATION, SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH:

proof of enrolment in an accredited educational institution;
registration;
confirmation letter of professional development;
agreement with research organisation; etc.

FAMILY REUNION:

(where one spouse is a citizen of the R.Serbia) (a) Marriage certificate not older than 6 months;
in case of de-facto relationships, statutory declarations of partners and two witnesses regarding their marriage like relationship, proof of same address; relationship registration certificate, birth certificate of mutual children if any; etc.
